[11-16-2022] San Bernardino County, CA - Train Fatally Struck One Woman in RedlandsOne woman was killed after a train collision in Redlands Wednesday afternoon, November 16, 2022.

Authorities reported that the fatal crash occurred around 12:40 p.m. on the rail line that runs parallel to the 10 Freeway, east of California Street.

According to authorities, the victim was walking near the tracks when a Metrolink Arrow train came behind her.

The train’s engineer attempted to halt it as she tried to cross the tracks, but he could not do so in time.

When responders arrived, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not yet released the 42-year-old woman’s name.

Authorities think that she is a transient.

Train service was halted for several hours while police investigated.
