[11-22-2022] Kern County, CA – Pedestrian Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver in Bakersfield

Authorities said a man was killed after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Bakersfield on Tuesday morning, November 22, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at about 3:20 a.m. on Highway 184 or Weedpatch Highway, south of Kerrnita Road.

Police investigation revealed that a guy was struck by an unknown driver in an unknown vehicle while he was walking in the southbound lanes of the freeway.

A Hall Ambulance crew in the vicinity found the deceased body and alerted the CHP.

The individual was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the site. It is unknown if using drugs or alcohol contributed to the collision.

The highway was shut down for two hours as the authorities investigated the crash.
