[11-26-2021] San Bernardino County, CA – One Person Killed After a Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision in Fontana

A 68-year-old man identified as Malcolm E. was killed due to a fatal two-vehicle collision in southern Fontana on Friday morning, November 26, 2021.

A pickup truck and an American Medical Response ambulance collided on the roadway under unclear circumstances. The ambulance acquired major damage while the pickup truck was overturned.

The pickup truck driver and a dog were reportedly pinned inside the wreckage. Unfortunately, the pickup truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, an animal control officer was assigned to put the dog to sleep as it was severely injured in the crash.

One medical personnel riding inside the ambulance sustained moderate injuries in the mishap. They were immediately taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The Fontana P.D.’s Major Accident Investigation Team is further investigating the accident. They will attempt to determine the cause and the liability in the crash.
