Single-Vehicle Crash Statistics

It is estimated that 1.35 million people die on American roads annually, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. These accidents are typically fatal for bikers, motorcyclists, and pedestrians.

Car accidents rank eighth on the global death toll and are the leading cause of death among young children and teenagers.

There were 1.37 fatalities per 100 kilometers driven in the United States in 2020. During the first quarter of 2021, 18.4% more traffic fatalities were than the previous year.

A single-car collision may result from several factors. A driver loses control of their car after speeding or making abrupt maneuvers on a wet, slick road, leading to a run-off-the-road accident. Debris-like branches or items falling from trucks may be scattered across the street.

Wearing a seatbelt, remaining alert, and avoiding distractions while driving helps reduce the likelihood of these accidents. Regardless of precautions, persons risk being involved in these fatal incidents.
