Fatal Head-On Collision Statistics

Car accidents in the United States are becoming more and more of an issue. According to the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) of the U.S. Department of Transportation, 33,654 fatal car accidents in 2018 killed 36,560 people.

A truck was involved in the crash in this case. As of 2018, nearly 5,000 large trucks were involved in fatal crashes across the United States. Even though large trucks only made up 4% of all registered vehicles on the road that year, they still caused 9% of all fatal accidents.

Those who drive big trucks are more likely to get into fatal accidents than people who drive other types of cars.

In this case, there was a head-on collision. A head-on collision happens when two cars hit each other head-on while going in opposite directions at the same speed and direction. The consequences of these collisions can be very bad, even if they happen at very low speeds. They can even kill you.

Even though head-on collisions make up only 2% of all accidents, they are responsible for 10% of highway deaths in the United States.

This is why there are so many accidents. They can be caused by distracted driving, drunk driving, driver fatigue, and mechanical problems.
