[12-18-2022] Santa Clara County, CA – Person Injured After Car Crash Caused by Carjackers in Milpitas

A person was seriously injured after a car crash caused by carjackers in Milpitas on Sunday evening, December 18, 2022.

According to the local authorities, the crash occurred after 6:00 p.m. along Interstate 680 and Landess Avenue.

The car involved was stolen by three people at 5:08 p.m. from a parking lot in Fremont. By 6:00 p.m., the police located the stolen car and a chase ensued.

The suspects pulled onto Interstate 680 in Santa Clara County before slamming into an uninvolved vehicle in Milpitas.

The male victim was thrown from the truck he was riding unrestrained due to the impact. He is reportedly now in critical condition.

The suspect car had three occupants who were all under 18 and were arrested. The police, however, cannot link any of them to the original carjacking.

The investigation by the authorities continued.
