A 56-year-old man identified as John C. was killed in a deadly hit-and-run crash on Sandalwood Drive on Tuesday morning, December 28, 2021.
The crash transpired at approximately 5:55 a.m. at the corner of Sandalwood Drive and Ballantyne Street in El Cajon.
The victim was crossing the road when a truck driver suddenly struck him. The driver did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.
Emergency personnel later found the victim unconscious on the roadway. He was rushed to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego. Unfortunately, the victim died hours after the accident. He was pronounced dead.
