[10-12-2020] Contra Costa County, CA – Fatal Antioch Bicycle Accident Kills One

A 57-year-old woman identified as Amy Day was killed after the bicycle she was riding in was struck by a vehicle in Antioch on Monday morning, October 12.

The fatal accident happened at around 8:21 a.m. on James Donlon Boulevard near G Street. The woman was reportedly riding her bicycle when she was suddenly struck by a passing vehicle.

Emergency personnel arrived and found the woman lying unconscious on the roadway. She was immediately transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The driver that struck the woman remained at the scene and cooperated with local authorities.

Alcohol and drugs were not believed to be factors in the accident.
