[05-19-2020] Fresno, CA – Two People Injured After a Head-On Collision at Kansas Avenue

Two people sustained varying degrees of injuries after a head-on collision in Kansa Avenue on Tuesday morning, May 19th.

According to the initial reports from the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 5:30 a.m. at Kansas Avenue and 16th avenue near Stratford.

An SUV collided head-on with a pick-up truck driven by a 55-year-old woman named Angel Rodriguez. The driver of the SUV was identified as Steve Marin from Porterville. He allegedly fell asleep behind the wheel, which caused the collision.

Both the SUV driver and his passenger, and the pick-up truck driver were rushed to a nearby hospital. One of the SUV driver’s passengers was later pronounced dead due to the severity of his injuries.

Authorities don’t consider drugs and alcohol as factors in the accident.
