Two people were killed after a fatal wrong-way traffic collision in Bakersfield on early Saturday morning, June 5th.

A wrong-way driver reportedly collided with another vehicle on Interstate 5 for unclear reasons. The circumstances leading up to the accident have not been established.

Both of the drivers were killed as a result of the collision. It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.

The California Highway Patrol is currently working on determining the cause of the accident and the liability.
