[12-12-2020] Los Angeles, CA – One Person Killed in a Deadly Big Rig Pedestrian Crash in Gardena

A 59-year-old man identified as Jaetack Lee was killed after getting hit by a big rig in a parking lot in Gardena on Saturday afternoon, December 12.

The accident occurred in the 14900 block of South Avalon Boulevard in Gardena at approximately 3:40 p.m.

The victim was reportedly standing in a parking lot when a big rig suddenly hit him. How the crash occurred, and the reason why it happened has not been established.

The victim sustained fatal injuries due to the severity of the impact. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The big rig driver remained at the scene and cooperated with local authorities. Drugs and alcohol were not considered as factors in the accident.
