One unidentified person was killed after a deadly bicycle crash on Highway 140 on Sunday morning, October 17.

[10-17-2021] Merced County, CA - Fatal Bicycle Accident near Lincoln Boulevard Results in One DeathAccording to the initial reports from local authorities, the crash happened near Lincoln Boulevard, just south of Livingston, at around 4:30 a.m. The bicyclist was traveling east on Highway 140 when the front of a 1997 GMC Sierra, also riding east in the eastbound lane, collided with the bike’s back.

The GMC Sierra driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The driver claimed that he was unable to see the bicyclist at the time of the accident.

Unfortunately, the bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed.

Drugs and alcohol were not considered as factors in the crash. The accident is currently under further investigation.
