[06-15-2020] Riverside, CA – Pedestrian Killed After a Hit and Run Accident in Mecca

A 47-year-old man identified as Miguel Cruz was killed by a hit-and-run motorist in Mecca on Saturday night, June 15th.

According to initial reports from the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident occurred at around 8:55 p.m. Witnesses reported seeing the victim’s body lying on the roadway at the intersection of Avenue 66 and Date Palm Street.

Authorities also found the victim’s belongings beside him, along with broken car pieces that most likely belong to the vehicle that struck him. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
