[10-31-2021] San Diego County, CA – Pedestrian Killed By a Drag Racer in Otay Mesa

An unidentified person was killed after a deadly pedestrian crash in Otay Mesa on Sunday morning, October 31st.

The fatal accident happened at approximately 6:00 a.m. in the 8800 block of Kerns Street in Otay Mesa.

Two drivers were reportedly drag racing when one of the drivers lost control of their vehicle and went up the sidewalk. One of the vehicles then crashed into a bystander who was watching the race.

The bystander was fatally injured in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been disclosed.

Drugs and alcohol were not considered as factors in the crash. No arrests have been made at the moment.
