One unidentified pedestrian was killed after getting struck by a train in Gaviota on Sunday afternoon, September 5.
According to the initial reports from local authorities, the crash took place one mile south of Mariposa Reina in Gaviota at around 1:15 p.m.
The pedestrian was struck by a passing train for unclear reasons. The circumstances leading up to the accident have not been established.
Emergency personnel later arrived at the scene and declared the pedestrian dead at the scene. The identity of the pedestrian has not been disclosed.
Information about the accident is limited at the moment. Local authorities are further investigating the cause of the accident.
