[03-22-2022] Kern County, CA – One Person Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Edison Road

According to the California Highway Patrol, an unidentified pedestrian was killed when he walked across South Edison Road and was struck by a car late Tuesday night, March 22.

According to the CHP, the pedestrian crossed South Edison Road outside of a crosswalk shortly before midnight, stepping into the path of a Toyota Corolla.

According to CHP, the car driver was unable to avoid colliding with the man and continued north on South Edison Road before returning to the crash scene later.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP.

According to the CHP, the crash does not appear to have been caused by alcohol or drugs.

The accident remains under investigation.
