[11-08-2022] San Bernardino County, CA – Man Killed Following Truck Accident in Twentynine Palms

A tow truck driver was killed after a tractor-trailer slid off and reversed into him in Twentynine Palms Tuesday afternoon, November 8, 2022.

According to authorities, the fatal accident occurred at about 5:10 p.m. close to the junction of Two Mile Road and Oasis Avenue.

Reports state that the 42-year-old driver was there to tow a broken-down tractor-trailer.

The tractor reportedly slid off the tow truck’s lift as the man fastened the tractor-trailer to the vehicle.

The tractor rolled backward and dragged the man underneath it. The man was pinned beneath the tractor and dragged out from under the tractor after about 50 feet.

The tractor-trailer came to a halt in the middle of Two Mile Road.

When paramedics arrived, the man was unresponsive and was immediately transported to Hi-Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree.

He was later declared dead on arrival.

Further investigation into the cause of the accident is still underway.
