[11-20-2022] One Killed, Another Hospitalized in Multi-Vehicle Collision on Dogwood RoadAuthorities said one driver was killed and another was hospitalized in a multi-vehicle collision near Imperial on Sunday afternoon, November 20, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash involving three vehicles occurred at 2:30 p.m. on Dogwood Road, north of Ralph Road.

A 26-year-old male Cathedral City resident was driving a 2016 Kia Forte south on Dogwood Road, while a 57-year-old male Brawley resident was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado with a 56-year-old male passenger from Fresno north on the same road.

Another 54-year-old female Brawley resident was driving a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado behind the first Chevrolet.

The Kia driver, for some unidentified reason, lost control, crossed into the northbound lane, and crashed with the other vehicles. He died on the spot, and the body was taken by the Imperial County Coroner’s Office.

The male Chevrolet driver got minor injuries but chose not to go to the hospital, while the female driver was transported via ambulance to the El Centro Regional Medical Center for minor wounds.

The accident is still being investigated even though all drivers were wearing seat belts and there were no signs of intoxication.
