[01-06-2021] Orange County, CA – DUI Pedestrian Crash in Anaheim Kills One Person

An unidentified security guard was killed after getting hit by a drunk driver in Anaheim on early Wednesday morning, January 6.

The accident took place at the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and Katella Avenue at approximately 1:15 a.m. The victim was reportedly walking on the west crosswalk when a Chevy Astro van suddenly struck him at the intersection. The Chevy Astro then later crashed into a palm tree after hitting the victim.

The victim was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The Chevy Astro driver sustained severe injuries from the crash and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Authorities later determined that the driver was under the influence at the time of the accident. The suspect was taken into custody by local authorities for driving while under the influence.
