[09-01-2020] Santa Clara, CA – One Person Injured After a Pedestrian Accident in Mountain View

A 62-year-old man sustained significant injuries after getting hit by a vehicle at an intersection in Mountain View on Tuesday evening, September 1.

The accident took place at the intersection of South 45th Street and Imperial Avenue at around 5:45 p.m. The victim was walking eastbound across Imperial Avenue against a red light when an oncoming Nissan Rogue SUV suddenly struck him.

The Nissan was attempting to make a left turn from Imperial Avenue onto 45th Street before the collision. The pedestrian sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident. His right knee was fractured, and he was immediately taken to the UCSD Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the SUV was identified as a 53-year-old woman. She stopped at the scene and cooperated with local authorities.
