[01-25-2026] San Diego County, CA – Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Winter Gardens Blvd. in Lakeside

A 30-year-old man riding a motorcycle was killed following a traffic collision in Lakeside late Sunday night, January 25, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Winter Gardens Boulevard, north of Lemon Crest Drive.

Authorities reported that the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Winter Gardens Boulevard when a Toyota Prius, driven by a 31-year-old woman, entered the roadway from a private driveway while heading eastbound.

Investigators stated that the driver made an illegal left turn from the driveway, causing the motorcycle to strike the left side of the vehicle.

The impact ejected the rider from the motorcycle and onto the roadway, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

CHP officials said that drugs or alcohol are not believed to have contributed to the crash.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
