[06-16-2021] Contra Costa County, CA – Teen Killed, Two Others Seriously Injured After a Head-On Collision on Sellers Avenue

A 16-year-old boy was killed while two other teenagers were seriously injured after a head-on collision near Delta Road on Wednesday evening, June 16.

[06-16-2021] Contra Costa County, CA - Teen Killed, Two Others Seriously Injured After a Head-On Collision on Sellers AvenueThe deadly collision happened at approximately 5:35 p.m. on Sellers Avenue, just south of Delta Road. A white 2015 Acura TLX sedan driven by the 16-year-old boy was heading southbound on Sellers avenue when, for unclear reasons, the white Acura crossed over the double yellow lines and veered into the opposite lane.

The 2015 Acura then collided head-on with a northbound blue 2003 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by a 19-year-old teen. The Acura driver was killed in the collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, his 15-year-old passenger was rushed to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek in critical condition.

The F-150 driver also sustained serious injuries from the crash and was taken to an area hospital for treatment as well. It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
