[01-26-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Man in Wheelchair Killed After Being Struck by Pickup Truck at Hill and Fifth Streets

A 50-year-old man in a wheelchair was killed after being struck by a pickup truck in downtown Los Angeles early Monday morning, January 26, 2026.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the crash occurred around 2:00 a.m. at the intersection of Hill Street and Fifth Street.

Authorities stated that the man was crossing Hill Street when a northbound Ford F-150 struck him. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene following the collision. Officers noted that the man in the wheelchair was believed to have been homeless.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
