A female pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Canyon Lake late Saturday night, January 31, 2026.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the incident was reported at around 10:20 p.m. in the area of Railroad Canyon Road and Canyon Lake Drive.
Responding deputies found a woman lying in the roadway with serious injuries. Paramedics attempted life-saving measures at the scene, but the victim was pronounced dead.
Authorities stated that alcohol or drugs were not believed to be factors in the accident. The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Lake Elsinore Station Traffic Team assumed the investigation. Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to contact Deputy Sheehan at (951) 245-3000.
