[02-13-2026] Humboldt County, CA – Man Fatally Struck by RV on Broadway in Eureka

A man was fatally struck by an RV on Broadway in Eureka on Friday afternoon, February 13, 2026.

The Eureka Police Department responded around 4:17 p.m. to the incident near the intersection of Broadway and Wabash. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Details surrounding the incident remain limited, and the identity of the deceased man has not been released.

The driver, who was uninjured, was reportedly traumatized by the collision and was cooperative with authorities during questioning at a nearby gas station.

Witnesses and the driver were interviewed by police, and the department is working on accessing video evidence from a vehicle camera.

While there is no official word from EPD on a dog reportedly accompanying the man, community social media posts indicate that a dog named “Thor” has been found and is in the care of locals.

An off-duty officer arrived at the scene almost immediately, with traffic halted between 14th Street and Wabash Street. The scene was cleared around 7:50 p.m.

DUI or speeding is not believed to be a factor in the incident, though the investigation is ongoing, according to EPD spokesperson Laura Montagna.
