[03-02-2026] San Luis Obispo County, CA – Woman and Dog Injured After Being Struck By Car in Shell Beach

A woman and her dog sustained injuries after being struck by a car while walking in Shell Beach, San Luis Obispo County, on Monday evening, March 2, 2026.

The Pismo Beach Police Department reported that the crash occurred around 5:20 p.m. at the corner of Boeker Avenue and Shell Beach Boulevard.

Officer Brian Hanson confirmed that a Mini Cooper struck both the woman and her dog, with a witness stating that the car “dragged” them.

The woman was taken to Adventist Health Sierra Vista hospital with serious injuries, while the dog also sustained injuries.

Authorities have ruled out drugs and alcohol as contributing factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
