A 51-year-old Hesperia man was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle while walking with his bicycle and dog across a Hesperia intersection early Tuesday morning, March 3, 2026.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the crash was reported at around 3:31 a.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Fifth Avenue.
Deputies from the Hesperia Station and personnel from San Bernardino County Fire responded to the incident. Upon arrival, they found the man in the roadway, east of the intersection.
Authorities said the pedestrian was transported from the scene by emergency personnel and later airlifted to a local hospital due to the severity of his injuries.
Investigators stated the man was walking with his bicycle and a dog northbound across Main Street from the east side of Fifth Avenue when the incident occurred.
A white Chevrolet Express traveling eastbound on Main Street struck the pedestrian as it crossed the intersection at Fifth Avenue. The dog was located deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Chevrolet Express remained at the scene following the crash. The Hesperia Station’s Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) responded and assumed control of the investigation.
