[03-16-2026] Santa Clara County, CA – Man Struck and Killed by SUV on Almaden Expressway in San Jose

A man was killed after being struck by a Dodge SUV in San Jose on Monday night, March 16, 2026.

According to the San Jose Police Department, officers responded to reports of the incident at around 9:45 p.m. in the area of Almaden Expressway and San Jose Avenue.

Upon arrival, they found the pedestrian injured at the scene. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. His identity has not been released.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2007 grey Dodge SUV was traveling southbound on Almaden Expressway when it struck the man, who was south of the intersection and outside of any marked crosswalk.

The driver of the Dodge remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The incident is under investigation.
