[03-24-2025] Sacramento County, CA – Bicyclist Hospitalized After Being Struck by Van in Orangevale

A bicyclist was hospitalized after a collision involving a van in Orangevale, Sacramento County, on Monday evening, March 24, 2025.

The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred at around 8:25 p.m. when a woman riding a bicycle was traveling through a crosswalk on Madison Avenue while heading southbound on Beauregard Way.

CHP said the bicyclist was struck by a van in the crosswalk. The woman sustained moderate to major injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Investigators indicated that it was not immediately clear which party had the right of way at the time of the incident.

The van driver was not injured and remained at the scene. CHP officials stated that impairment is not believed to have contributed to the crash.

The investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
