[03-25-2026] Santa Barbara County, CA – One Killed, Another Injured in Crash Involving Sedan and Semi-Truck on Highway 166

A man was killed, and another person suffered minor injuries in a crash between a sedan and a semi-truck on Highway 166, east of Santa Maria, on Wednesday morning, March 25, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 6:50 a.m. east of Pine Canyon Road.

First responders from the San Luis Obispo County Fire Department and American Medical Response arrived at the scene, where the driver of the sedan was declared dead.

The driver of the semi-truck sustained minor injuries. The identity of the deceased man is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
