[03-27-2026] San Francisco County, CA – Pedestrian Killed, Another Injured After Car Crashes Into Building in Chinatown

One pedestrian was killed, and another seriously injured in a crash in San Francisco‘s Chinatown on Friday morning, March 27, 2026.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the incident occurred around 7:44 a.m. in the 600 block of Jackson Street when a car crashed into the exterior of New Lun Ting Café.

One of the pedestrians succumbed to their injuries after being rushed to the hospital, while the other pedestrian, an adult, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators believe the 76-year-old driver was attempting to park when the crash occurred. The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the police. Authorities stated that alcohol or drugs were not factors in the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
