[04-08-2026] Santa Clara County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle Near Mt. Pleasant High School in San Jose

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle near Mt. Pleasant High School in San Jose on Wednesday evening, April 8, 2026.

According to the San Jose Police Department, officers responded to South White Road at Mt. McKinley Drive at around 8:09 p.m.

Upon arrival, they found the pedestrian with life-threatening injuries. The victim was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to their injuries, with the death confirmed by police at 11:20 p.m.

A light-colored Toyota minivan at the scene appeared to be part of the investigation and stopped just beyond the south crosswalk on southbound South White Road.
