What To Do After A Car Accident In Glenn County, CA

Dealing with the aftermath of an accident can be overwhelming, but taking the right steps can make all the difference. Here are some highly recommended tips to help you navigate this challenging time:

  1. Ensure Safety — One of the most important responsibilities after an accident is to keep everyone safe and avoid pileups. Turn on your hazards and move your car to the side of the road. If someone needs immediate medical attention, call 911.
  2. Check Yourself For Injuries — Before you help others, take a moment to check yourself for injuries. Keep in mind that adrenaline can occasionally conceal the pain.
  3. Collect Evidence — If possible, document the scene with photographs and videos. Write down any witnesses’ contact information and collect the other driver’s license, registration, and insurance.
  4. Get Checked In The Hospital — Even if you feel well after the crash, get checked by the paramedics or go to the emergency room. A medical record may be useful in your case.
  5. Notify Your Insurance Company — Report the accident to your insurance company. Provide truthful and accurate information about what happened. Stick to the basics and avoid making recorded statements without first checking with your lawyer.
