[08-22-2025] Kern County, CA โ€“ Bicyclist Killed After Being Struck by Two Vehicles on Buena Vista Boulevard in Lamont

A bicyclist was killed after being struck by two vehicles in Lamont, Kern County, on Friday night, August 22, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at around 8:26 p.m. on Buena Vista Boulevard, west of Fairfax Road.

Authorities said a 48-year-old man driving a 2007 Mitsubishi Endeavor eastbound at about 55 to 60 mph collided with a male bicyclist who was also traveling eastbound without lighting equipment during nighttime conditions. The impact ejected the bicyclist into the westbound lane, where he was struck by a 2018 Hyundai Accent driven by a 28-year-old woman.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.

CHP confirmed that both drivers stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Alcohol and/or drugs are believed to be factors in the crash.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
