A 44-year-old male cyclist was hospitalized in critical condition after a collision with a vehicle in the 1300 block of Callens Road in Ventura on Wednesday afternoon, October 15, 2025.
According to the Ventura Police Department, multiple 911 calls came in before 2:30 p.m. reporting a crash between a motor vehicle and an electric bicycle.
Officers arrived to find the cyclist unconscious with severe injuries; he was transported to a hospital in critical condition. The driver, a 30-year-old man, stopped, offered aid, and remained at the scene. He was not injured.
A preliminary investigation indicates the cyclist was traveling northbound on Callens Road while the driver was heading southbound and is suspected of turning in front of the cyclist, violating the cyclistโs right of way.
Authorities continue to investigate the collision.
