[12-04-2025] Tulare County, CA – 78-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle Near Porterville

A 78-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle near Porterville on December 4, 2025. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 190 and Westwood Street.

Authorities stated that the man was walking eastbound across Westwood Street, north of Highway 190, when he crossed into the path of a 2008 Toyota driven by a 38-year-old woman. 

The driver was unable to avoid a collision and struck the pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and a passenger in the Toyota were not injured. The identity of the 78-year-old man has not been officially released. 

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
