Trial Attorney
David J. Ebenhack, Esq., obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of San Diego and went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School, where he was an enthusiastic participant in moot court and attended on a merit scholarship.
Throughout law school, David interned with the District Attorney’s Office in the Preliminary Hearings Department, where he conducted a vast range of preliminary hearings.
After law school, David took a position at a plaintiff’s firm focusing on business litigation and entertainment law. Here, he was an integral member of their litigation department, participating in the management of many cases.
Thereafter, David spent six years at a personal injury firm handling traffic accidents, wrongful death, premises liability, trip and fall accidents, and traumatic brain injuries. Today, he works alongside the car accident lawyers, workers’ compensation attorneys, and other legal professionals who make up the team at Arash Law.
In his position, David assumed considerable responsibilities, including conducting client intake, handling pre-litigation matters such as demands, negotiations, and other communications with insurance adjusters, filing complaints, and participating in litigation, including discovery, filing discovery motions, motions for summary judgment, trial preparation, and depositions of witnesses. Throughout his tenure, David served as second chair on numerous high-value trials.
In addition to being an active member of CAALA, David is an avid sports fan who enjoys long-distance running, participating in marathons and 10Ks throughout the year.
Case: Traffic Accident
One client who holds a special place for David was a new mother whose car was violently T-boned. She suffered from a traumatic brain injury and injuries to her wrist and nose. The defense pushed back hard, ordering three separate medical examinations of her wrist, her neck and back, and her brain. David attended every one of those examinations and her medical appointments with her, standing by her side every step of the way.
The insurer made a single lowball offer before the lawsuit and nothing more, so David took the case all the way through expert discovery, pressing the carrier with demand after demand, until it finally paid its full policy and the case settled for the $1.25 million limits. She was a genuinely kind client, and seeing her and her family receive the result they deserved made the long fight especially rewarding for David.
Case: Traffic Accident
Another case that is especially meaningful to David involved an older husband and wife who were both injured when a pest control company's driver T-boned their car. At his deposition, David got the driver to admit the reason for the crash: he had dropped his water bottle and was reaching for it when he slammed into them. Both spouses were nervous about the legal process, so David devoted extensive time to sitting with them, answering all their questions, and guiding them through it.
Both clients had to undergo surgery because of the extent of their injuries from the crash. They needed extra care and reassurance, and David made himself available at all hours to keep them informed and at ease. His powerful settlement demand resolved the case for $5,000,000 before expert discovery even began, and David could not have been happier to see this couple receive the result they deserved.
