A pedestrian was struck and killed while attempting to catch a stray dog in Mission Hills, Los Angeles, on Sunday evening, April 6, 2025.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the fatal crash occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. in the 14700 block of Devonshire Street. The victim, identified only as a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities stated that the vehicle involved was possibly a tan-colored sedan driven by a female suspect. The driver did not stop to help the victim and was last seen fleeing from the area.
Investigators from LAPD Valley Traffic Division reported that the man was in the roadway attempting to catch a stray dog when the incident occurred.
No further information has been released, and the authorities have not yet identified a suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
