A 39-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries when he was struck by a blue Toyota Prius while crossing the street in Pacific Beach, San Diego, on Wednesday evening, September 10, 2025.
According to the San Diego Police Department, officers responded around 7:41 p.m. to the 2500 block of Grand Avenue, where they learned that the man was crossing the street when the Prius, driven by a 48-year-old woman, struck him in the number one lane.
The victim suffered a spinal fracture, a brain bleed, a dislocated knee, and a collapsed lung, and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Police confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the collision.
The investigation is being handled by the department’s Traffic Division.
