A 12-year-old boy was killed and two girls were injured after being struck by a vehicle in the San Carlos area of San Diego on Monday morning, October 20, 2025.
According to the San Diego Police Department, officers received a call around 7:22 a.m. regarding a crash near Lake Badin Avenue and Jackson Drive.
The children, all 12 years old, were walking to Pershing Middle School when they were hit by an eastbound vehicle while crossing Jackson Drive. Two of the victims sustained major injuries, while the third had no obvious injuries. All three were taken to Rady Childrenโs Hospital, where the boy later died.
Police said the driver, a man in his 30s, remained at the scene and attempted to render aid while waiting for emergency responders. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident and have notified the families of the children.
