[09-18-2026] Fresno County, CA – 86-Year-Old Man Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle on First St. and University Ave.

An 86-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle in Fresno on Friday afternoon, September 18, 2026.

According to Fresno police, the incident occurred shortly before 4:00 p.m. at the intersection of First Street and University Avenue.

The pedestrian was transported to a hospital. Police said he later died during surgery.

Authorities did not immediately release the man’s identity.

The driver involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing.
