[01-12-2026] Riverside County, CA – Bicyclist Hospitalized with Major Injuries After Collision with Dodge Charger in Indio

A bicyclist was hospitalized with major injuries after being struck by a Dodge Charger near Indio on Monday morning, January 12, 2026.

According to California Highway Patrol Officer David Torres, the crash occurred shortly before 10:00 a.m. on Country Club Drive, east of Adams Street.

Authorities stated that the Dodge Charger was traveling eastbound in the No. 2 lane when it collided with the rear of the bicycle. The impact caused the male bicyclist, who was wearing a helmet, to be ejected and land on the pavement. He was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.

Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the crash.
