[09-07-2025] Riverside County, CA – Woman Fatally Struck by Pickup While Riding Electric Bike on Pierson Blvd. in Desert Hot Springs

A 67-year-old woman, identified as Laura H., was fatally struck by a Ford F-150 pickup on Pierson Boulevard in Desert Hot Springs on Sunday morning, September 7, 2025.

According to the Riverside County coroner’s office, the victim was riding a Sasikeibike along the right-hand portion of the eastbound lane of Pierson Boulevard shortly after 7:00 a.m. when a pickup truck approached from behind and struck her.

California Highway Patrol Officer David Torres stated that the Ford driver failed to see the woman for unknown reasons and struck the rear of the electric bike.

The victim sustained multiple traumatic injuries and was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where she was pronounced dead approximately 30 minutes after the crash.

The incident is under investigation by the CHP.
