[09-20-2025] Sonoma County, CA – Bicyclist Fatally Struck on Old Redwood Highway Near Windsor

An elderly bicyclist was killed after being struck by a vehicle on the shoulder of Old Redwood Highway near Windsor in Sonoma County on Saturday afternoon, September 20, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 1:10 p.m. when a northbound Range Rover drifted onto the right shoulder and struck the cyclist, who had stopped just south of Shiloh Road.

Emergency responders transported the victim to Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The Sonoma County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity once the next of kin have been notified.

CHP officials reported that the driver of the Range Rover remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities also stated that the driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
