[08-18-2026] San Diego County, CA – Pedestrian Critically Injured After Being Trapped Between Vehicles in Santee

A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries after becoming trapped between two vehicles in Santee, San Diego County, on Tuesday night, August 18, 2026.

According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the incident at around 10:34 p.m. at the 7900 block of Poplin Drive.

Authorities found the pedestrian trapped between the vehicles with severe injuries. They provided first aid and applied a tourniquet to control significant bleeding before paramedics arrived.

The victim was transported by ambulance to a local trauma center for treatment. The driver of the other vehicle remained at the scene, cooperated with deputies, and was evaluated by medical personnel.

Authorities said drugs and alcohol were not believed to have contributed to the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
