An unidentified woman was killed after a major multi-vehicle traffic crash on Highway 41 on Monday noon, July 19.

[07-19-2021] Fresno County, CA - Woman Killed in a Fatal Multi-Vehicle Collision on Highway 41According to the initial reports from local authorities, the mishap happened around noon time in the area of Central Avenue and Highway 41. Four vehicles were involved in the collision. How the accident occurred and why it happened have not been established.

Authorities later determined that a Toyota Harris initially stopped at a red light when a white Honda Insight rear-ended the vehicle. The Honda was traveling at high speeds. The initial crash may have caused a chain-reaction collision. The Yaris collided with the back of a blue Honda Accord, which careened and collided with the front of a Chevy in the next lane.

One woman sustained serious injuries in the crash. She had major blunt force trauma and was immediately taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Toyota Insight sustained minor injuries and was also taken to CRMC for treatment. The driver may face manslaughter charges after getting discharged. The accident is under further investigation.
