[01-07-2026] Santa Barbara County, CA – Pedestrian Hospitalized After Being Struck By Vehicle on State St.

A pedestrian was taken to a hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Santa Barbara on Wednesday afternoon, January 7, 2026.

According to the Santa Barbara Police Department, emergency personnel were dispatched shortly after 4:30 p.m. on State Street at Los Olivos Street.

Officers arrived to find the pedestrian down in the roadway. Police said the man was conscious and breathing at the scene. The vehicle involved was described as a Sprinter-type van.

The pedestrian was transported by AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Authorities did not immediately release the man’s identity or condition.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
