About 6,000 people were killed in motor vehicle accidents in the United States in 2016. The death rate ended the year at 88 people per minute. Over the course of a year, more than 137,000 people in the United States are admitted to hospitals due to injuries sustained in traffic accidents.
What to Do After an Accident and How to Get a Police Report
After a car accident, make sure police arrive and report the crash. If asked about the event, be honest, but avoid assuming stuff you don’t know. Accident victims might apologize extensively even if they were not at fault due to shock and anxiety. Insurance companies can use this goodwill to deny a claim by asserting you conceded responsibility.
The police department where the accident happened can provide a police report if you need one. We can also request a copy from them if you can’t directly ask for it. Simply use our online form. We’ll start your claim process for free after receiving your report request. Rest assured that we will work with you until we receive all the claim-related documentation.
