[01-28-2026] Monterey County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck in Walgreens Parking Lot on Reservation Rd. in Marina

A 70-year-old pedestrian, identified as Renette B., was killed following a crash that occurred in the parking lot of the Walgreens in Marina, Monterey County, on Wednesday afternoon, January 28, 2026.

According to the Marina Police Department, the crash was reported around 12:45 p.m. at the Walgreens located at 226 Reservation Road.

Authorities said a vehicle traveling through the parking lot struck a pedestrian and a parked vehicle. Emergency personnel arrived within minutes and provided medical aid at the scene. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

Police stated that the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. A preliminary report indicated that drugs and alcohol were not believed to be factors in the crash.

The investigation remains ongoing.
