[01-29-2023] 67-Year-Old Man Killed in National City Pedestrian AccidentA 67-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in National City on Sunday evening, January 29, 2023.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office reported that James S. was fatally struck at around 5:45 p.m. at 3000 East 11th Street.

The driver of the vehicle involved, a Honda sedan, stopped after the crash and dialed 911. What led to the collision is still being investigated.

The elderly pedestrian was transported by paramedics to Scripps Mercy Hospital. Roughly three hours later, he was declared dead.

No further details are immediately available as the investigation by the authorities continues.
